The DSE Control Business Development Manager role requires an ambitious and energetic individual with control system knowledge in the vehicle and off highway industries to expand our customers and market share.​

You will be the front of the company and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy to key accounts across an international territory. ​

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• ​​Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction by conducting research to identify new markets and customer needs

Technical Support Engineer - Rockford USA

​

To provide DSE’s external customers with high quality, value adding technical support on the full range of the company’s electronic control modules for a wide range of generator and control applications. Including (but not limited to) renewable energy, backup/emergency power, paralleling with the grid, and other complex applications, engine only functions and off highway implementations.

To provide technical support and product development guidance to DSE’s internal teams including production, engineering, sales & marketing, test & approvals, and other members of the technical support team.

Training global and local customers, and internal personnel on DSE product and their applications.

Global and local customer visits to assist sales, training, or fault-finding purposes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Providing customers with global technical support (training, trouble shooting, commissioning etc.) via telephone, email, remote desktop sessions (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.) and face-to-face on a wide range of DSE product

• Delivering training sessions on DSE products covering technical functions, applications, and common faults

• Test and confirm reported issues from customers. If confirmed follow the company’s procedures and guidelines for remedial action

Hardware Engineer - Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)

​

We are seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and support reliable power transfer solutions used in critical power applications.

This role focuses on the electrical and electronic hardware design of Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) systems, including power switching, sensing, protection, and control interfaces, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in power electronics, low- and medium-voltage power systems, and electromechanical control design, with hands-on involvement from concept through production.

The individual will work within the Engineering department located at DSE headquarters in Hunmanby (North Yorkshire) or in Mansfield (Nottinghamshire). They will perform hardware development activities on new product developments as well as maintaining the current product portfolio.

The company products operate in the Energy Control and Automation market and are designed to provide energy throughout a wide range of forms such as generator sets, renewable, microgrid as well as off-highway machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

Hardware Design & Development

• Design and develop ATS hardware architectures including power paths, switching elements (contactors, breakers, SCRs, or solid-state devices), and auxiliary control circuits
• Create schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams for ATS control and monitoring systems
• Design circuits for voltage, current, frequency sensing, phase detection, and power quality monitoring
• Implement protective circuits for over-current, over-voltage, short-circuit, and fault isolation
• Support integration of microcontrollers, relays, and communication interfaces (e.g., Modbus, CAN, Ethernet)​

Power Systems & Compliance

• Ensure ATS designs meet UL, IEC, BS, and relevant regional standards
• Perform fault analysis, derating calculations, creepage/clearance analysis, and thermal design
• Support short-circuit withstand and closing ratings (WCR) and coordination studies
• Collaborate with compliance teams during certification testing and audits
  
  

Testing & Validation

• Develop and execute hardware validation plans including functional, environmental, and stress testing
• Perform lab testing with generators, utility sources, and load banks
• Analyse test data, debug hardware issues, and implement design improvements

Manufacturing & Lifecycle Support

• Support prototype builds, design for manufacturability (DFM), and design for test (DFT)
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams on component selection and cost optimization
• Provide production support, failure analysis, and field issue resolution

Maintenance Apprentice

​

Deep Sea Electronics is one of the world’s top manufacturers of generator controllers, auto transfer switch controllers, battery chargers and vehicle & off-highway controllers. As part of the maintenance team, the Maintenance Apprentice will be eventually working on an alternating day shift pattern. The role involves maintaining all the machinery in the production area, diagnosing and fixing where necessary to keep production downtime to a minimum.

​

This role will have a relevant apprentice programme provided running alongside – the successful candidate will be required to attend college one day per week. Following completion of the initial course further opportunities for academic development will be available for the candidate including opportunities up to degree level.

Interviews will commence in the Easter Break: 30th March 2026 - 10th April 2026

• Fault finding on mechanical, motors, air, nitrogen, electrical and the ability to follow wiring diagrams
• Direct liaison with machine suppliers for technical support and solutions
• Understand and comply with company policies and procedures

Internal & External Relationships:

​

• The main area of support is to production to make sure that production machinery is maintained to a schedule and is running and functioning correctly
• When fixing equipment, it will mainly be on the production line so good communication skills are required to make sure that the operators understand what you are doing
• Reporting back to production line managers with regular updates is also an important part of this role
