Workday Senior Analyst


The Senior HRIS Analyst - HCM & PATT (HCM, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking & Scheduling) provides expert functional and technical support for Workday. Under the direction of the Director of Global HR Technology, this position collaborates in the planning, design, development, testing and deployment of new global HR technology solutions, enhancements to existing systems, system upgrades, and continuous process improvements. This position will also provide superior customer service by consulting with HR Partners and business stakeholders to define business needs and provide solutions to those needs. 


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key resource and subject matter expert (SME) in terms of Workday system functionality for functional areas that can include: HCM, Absence, Payroll, Time Tracking, and Scheduling.  Additional experience in other functional areas a plus (Benefits, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Talent Management, or Recruiting)
  • Gathers, defines and implements system requirements, including but not limited to preparing and executing functional and technical specifications, test plans, system testing, and development of processes and procedures
  • Performs advanced system configurations including organization management, eligibility rules, business processes, approval routing rules, condition rules, notifications, calculated fields, templates, and plan setup
  • Manages all configuration across Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking & Scheduling, and completes supporting change management documentation
  • Identify, verify, design, and implement system enhancements and business process improvements for key HR processes
  • Performs day-to-day operations, maintenance, and functionality for HR systems, including but not limited to system upgrades, troubleshooting root cause analysis and resolving issues
  • Represent HR Systems team with cross-functional, HRIS-related projects, including implementation, system enhancements, creating functional specifications, managing change control, and all testing
  • Lead and develop internal processes to maintain business process models, testing scenario templates, and all systems-related training materials  
  • Configures and maintains user security roles. Collaborates with the HR team regarding the proper security needed for creating/modifying security roles and ensuring effective business processes. Ensures roles are created properly and contain the proper access to HR systems. Assigns and maintains user access. Implements safeguards to ensure employee data privacy and protection  
  • Review current HR system functionality for possible improvements, troubleshooting issues, testing new features, and developing and delivering end-user training materials  
  • Plan and execute unit, integration, and acceptance testing; and create specifications for systems to meet approved business requirements 
  • Participates in biannual release / enhance processes to review functionality, impact analysis, configuration and testing
  • Supports the development of reports for supported functional areas
  • Maintain EIB templates and upload to system  

Essential Factors:

Knowledge:

  • Strong project management and process management skills     
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of HR processes, procedures, and policies to translate business requirements into the system     
  • Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems

  • Familiarity with time tracking requirements for states of California in USA a plus
  • Previous system implementation experience; Workday a plus

  • Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects

Test & Approvals Engineer - Mansfield

The individual will work within the Test and Approvals department located at the DSE office Mansfield. They will perform verification and validation activities at a product and system level on new product developments as an integral part of ensuring high-quality products are built by the company. Full training and support will be provided.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Write and execute test scripts and plans for the testing of products as part of a new product development and release process
  • Setup test apparatus, including wiring and rewiring of test looms
  • Complete test and issue reports as part of testing in a controlled manner
  • Utilise existing and contribute to the development and/or introduction of new manual and automated testing tools
  • Make use of the company documentation, version control system and issue management systems to record findings in a controller manner
  • Communicate and maintain timing records for time spent on projects
  • Obtain product knowledge and assist with new product specification
  • Assist with the development of internal procedures and techniques for verification and validation testing
  • Other ad hoc duties as and when required

Internal & External Relationships:

  • Engineering Department – the test and approvals engineer will work closely with the software development team whilst testing the products and communicate the detail of the results
  • Technical Support – assist technical support with more involved customer queries

Requirements: 

  • An appreciation of electrical systems and engine driven applications
  • A good level of understanding of testing types, testing methodologies and software product development lifecycles
  • Principles of security authentication.
  • Understanding of penetration testing methodologies
  • Web and/or mobile application test technologies and practices, including test automation
  • Configuring and troubleshooting IP network settings
  • ​Ensure the repeatability of software test plan execution to identify and capture issues during the first test cycle
  • Attention to detail, patience and self-discipline required for software testing
  • An open attitude for learning and continuous skills development
  • Able to perform tasks on their own or as part of a team. Teamwork is essential

Materials Management Operative

Admin Support - Purchasing


The Admin Support will work within a busy purchasing team, assisting with general administration, supplier orders and deliveries. This is a 12 month Fixed Term contract to cover Maternity Leave in the purchasing department.

Key Role Objectives:

  • Assisting Materials Controllers and Buyers with general administration around purchase orders and expediting
  • Placing of orders for manual requisition
  • Expediting of purchase orders with suppliers
  • Work with suppliers on supplier order books to help ensure system is accurate and delivery dates are accurate on the system
  • Work with Buyers and Material Controllers in assisting with their order reschedules including the rescheduling of orders
  • Collating of delivery notes
  • Any other relevant tasks including admin work from the Purchasing Manager 

Internal & External Relationships:

  • ​Liaise with the Purchasing team to understand suppliers and order and system
  • Liaise with warehouse and various staff raising manual requisitions
  • Work with suppliers on deliveries and orders

Embedded Software Manager

The Embedded Software Manager will work within the Engineering department based at our site in Hunmanby or Mansfield. They will be required to perform a hands-on role within the matrixed engineering team to line manage a subset of the engineering team in the delivery of new product developments and the maintenance of existing.

Requirements:

  • Expert in C/C++ for embedded systems
  • Understanding to Linux operating systems and application development, including Yocto
  • An appreciation of the power generation industry and/or control and automation solutions
  • Understanding of product development and managing multi discipline teams
  • Software development life cycles, tools and processes
  • A functional safety standard such as ISO 26262, 61508 or IEC 60730
  • Good understanding of cyber security principles and technologies for embedded systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent ability in work break down and task estimation with a willingness to commit and drive projects to completion
  • Familiar with combined stage gated (waterfall) / agile development approaches
  • Risk identification and mitigation techniques
  • Comfortable communicating with both technical engineers and management
  • Problem-solving and trouble-shooting capabilities
  • Enthusiastic and optimistic
  • 7 years+ experience as a senior engineer or team leader, with direct reports
  • 7 years+ working as an embedded software engineer, with a mixture of RTOS and Linux project exposure
  • A background in electronics, possibly from degree education 
  • ​Relevant Bachelors’ Degree

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Line management of a segment of DSE engineering team. Engineers are located at both the North Yorkshire and Sutton in Ashfield sites with some remote and hybrid working in place
  • Line management includes day to day task management, 1:1 appraisal, goal setting, creating, and guiding personal development plans, holiday approval and sickness review
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Mangers to review the technical content of projects, define and estimate the duration of tasks to form project plans, assist in making sure project plans are technically correct and appropriate timescales are being worked to
  • Work with Project to allocate engineering work tasks to the reporting segment, using JIRA or similar tool for task management
  • Provide technical guidance and be a mentor to junior engineers
  • Review and be responsibility for engineering work to ensure a high standard of output from the reporting segment
  • Ensure the engineers have the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to complete the tasks. Work with the engineering management team to address gaps as necessary
  • Work at the project inception stage to provide product and project costs estimates, feasibility studies and ensure that high level technical requirements are capture completely prior to wider engineering involvement
  • Be a technical decision maker and contribute to platforms and architecture strategy
  • Assist in the development of in-house tools and process
  • Support the wider company be answering technical questions
  • Administration and maintenance of engineering systems, revision and variant control systems, issue management systems
  • Work with other supervisors and engineering managers to ensure alignment on technology, processes, designs and testing
  • Review department KPIs to ensure targets are being hit
  • Depending on size of team, work hands on as an engineer for the relevant discipline
  • Risk identification and mitigation techniques, relating to the determination of functional safety levels
  • Comfortable communicating with technical engineers
